We have met many wonderful people in England since we have spent a few summers there with our great friends David and Helen Hearn. David was wrapping up his involvement with the Wirral Show and took on our wedding when he found out we wanted to get married in England with his family and all our friends there. He arranged the whole thing and told us to just show up. Until we arrived at the wedding, we did not even know where we were getting married. He just gave us tantalizing hints along the way for several weeks.
We had our wedding on the deck of the Pogoria - a sailing ship from Poland. The captain married us in both English and Russian. The captain, first mate, and entire crew along with David and Helen and all our friends made this a dream wedding we could not have imagined!!!
News of the wedding was covered by BBC television, BBC radio, and a local newspaper on the Wirral Peninsula. We were interviewed by them just after the wedding for a live radio broadcast and the six o clock tv news.
It was a spectacular wedding and David Hearn says it was his grand finale!
